Starting from 17th - 20th May 2018 with 250 seats of 4 stages amidst the hall of international startups and tech pavilion at Queen Sirikit National Conferences Center (QSNCC) Thailand held the largest Southeast Asia startup event, gathering over 400 local and international startups, 500 international speakers leading by multinational corporations, international organizations, governments, high-growth companies and civil societies.
With a tremendous success of Startup Thailand 2017, the Thailand government, by National Startup Committee (NSC) and Ministry of Science and Technology (MOST) wanted to push forward and support Startups in Thailand. Aiming to establish the Kingdom in transforming into an “Enterprising Nation” through a well-crafted Global open innovation platform in order to achieve a major economic driving role of Asia.
Thailand carries over 1,500 startups in various sectors. Numbers of Corporate Venture Capital (CVC) have continuously launched with an estimated size of an investment up to USD 1 billion for the past 12 months.
From local to global, Thailand’s Startup Ecosystem allows promising startups to scale globally by utilizing its network as the gateway to launch new innovative products and services. With an endless business and investment opportunities in the Kingdom, Startup Thailand has now linked to more than 25 startup communities globally.
Ministry of Science and Technology (MOST) recognizes the importance of driving and developing Thailand Startups as well as Thailand’s Startup Ecosystem.
Full support from both the government and private sector have continuously been given to a plethora of Thailand’s talented startup businesses needing support, nurturing along with financial investments to elevate them to the next level.
One of the main highlight stages is called “The Firesides Stage”. The pentagon shape stage in the form of battle ring, brings the energy and innovative ideas from the successful startup entrepreneurs to share with all the audience and fire up their imagination. For the five-day event, the daily theme is “The Next Economy”, “Sky Economy”, “Fast Future”, and “Entrepreneur under 35 + Startup Universe”.
